There I am... minding my own business... in my OWN dream... when the following occurs...
We were in a busy cafe/bakery-type place. Some American lady we sortta knew was hanging around, when a full Brasilian girl walked in. I told the American lady, "I think she's Brasilian," and we asked her. She confirmed that she was, we had some small talk, and she went off in some other direction.
The American lady turned to me and said, "It would be interesting to see what your mom looks like."
"She looks like me, only darker..."
"What I mean is... you're not good-looking, but that other girl is..."
Since, in dreams, we know everything and get the meaning of every situation and string of words, I knew exactly what she was saying. And it made sense in the dream. It doesn't make sense in real ife, but here's the sense it made in the dream:
Basically, she was trying to figure out how this other Brasilian could be so good-looking and I wasn't at all. Maybe comparing the two offspring with their mothers would help her figure it out. Because, yes, Americans generalize in just such a way (I'm joking, of course -- hrm): if one is or isn't good-looking, you should expect the same of all the others of that nationality.
She continued, "Oh, no offense intended..."
"It's alright. I know I'm not good-looking, so I'm not offended."
Then I distincly told myself: This will make a great blog entry (the bizarreness of the entire situation).
Another one of those dream things that in real life don't seem quite as brilliant, aherm.
I woke up a couple seconds after that interaction and was still in the "remember this silly little experience for your blog post". I didn't fully awake, because I was still thinking to myself what a great blog entry it would make, of the haha variety, but then some wakefulness crept in with a "but how can I report an incident that never happened?" shade of doubt. :D
And there you have it.
