Mother

Aww... I'm not the only one who equated "mother" with "beacon"...

(Yes, Leigh, I'm becoming incredibly sappy in my old age. All this poetry and what have you, tsk-tsk... Actually, it's always been part of my nature [I have even been known to write -- you'd be shocked with some of my twisted poetry from my youth], truth be told, I just have reason to let this part scamper around, at the moment, ehehe.)

My Mothers' Memory
John Boyle O'Reilly

There is one bright star in heaven
Ever shining in my night;
God to me one guide has given
Like the sailor's beacon light,
Set on every shoal of danger
Sending out its warning ray
To the homebound weary stranger
Looking for the land-locked bay.
In my farthest, wildest wand'rings
I have turned me to that love,
As a diver, neath the water,
Turns to watch the light above.

  1. Yes. You are sappy. I like it. Please post some of this twisted poetry. I feel like it would provide the boost your blog needs. I can't do EVERYTHING! :D
Oh... and about that post below... you really shouldn't have taken me seriously when I told you you could never be a ballerina. I WASN'T EVEN WATCHING!
I hope that's a good lesson for you.
    Selah. :D
