Run: Day 2

Did absolutely nothing along these lines today, as I only slept 2 hours last night and am entirely exhausted -- the body would not be able to handle anything intense. Besides, work was intense and detailed enough to account for any energy that might've been pretending to lurk about. :D

I also found out that there are actually no more free spots for the 5k-each relay -- I guess I was notified too late in the game. Oh well: I decided I'll train anyway, as a goal. Tim suggested I tag along to see what it's all like, in preparation for next year, so maybe I'll do just that.

So, anyway, will keep counting these days, as I intend to improve in speed and strength before the 29th of November.

Must get: whatever small-est and cheap-est .mp3 player I can find, for running purposes; something that will measure time and distance for me.

Someone was saying I don't need to train, but if I want to improve and, especially if part of a relay, put out quality, I actually have to tune in to doing more than just loping along at my unambitious pace.

Need intervals. Need to train on flatter terrain, so I can see what my skill is actually really like. Must have plan. Must see progress. I guess even just knowing what you're capable of enables you to face a race knowing what to generally expect, which is always rather reassuring, mentally. Even if you're not exceptional, at least you know whether or not you're entirely terrible and can have a bit of confidence there. :)

The high times for women's 5k are just under 16 minutes. If I could get it down to 20, eventually, in my life, I'd be quite pleased. I don't think that's realistic, maybe 30, but who knows...

Something to aim for!--Improvement, that is: whatever it may be. :)
