Welcome!

I've been giving the intent of this blog a lot of thought...

I am a missionary -- I was raised by missionaries and my life's calling is to be a missionary. But...

Jesus has given me abilities that aren't typically related to a missionary lifestyle. I may not receive a salary and I'm not very "worldly-wise" or even technically "educated", yet, judging by the "work" I can do and usually do, one -- to those who don't know or understand my lifestyle -- would think I have a high-paying job. One also would not understand how I can do what I've done or go where I've been, without receiving a salary.

I've been to South America, North America, Turkey and Europe. I'm on my way to Asia. All this in the course of pursuing the path God lays out for me.

My abilities and work may seem conventional, but the more I think about it and compare similarities and differences, the more I realize how much my life, regardless of outward appearances, all comes down to one thing: faith.

My missionary-ness may not be showy, outstanding, what one associates with "missionaries" -- I do a lot of desk work -- but what I want to explore in this blog is the subtlety of "faith" in my life.

A life that is given to God -- and in service of others, no matter how small that service may be -- is a life of faith.

--And the fact that my services are given free of charge only adds to that element: I need faith to know that if the Lord says "go there!", He will supply my ticket; I need faith to know that if I'm in need of a wardrobe upgrade, He will supply the right styles and colors, even fitting my odd shape; I need faith to trust that when I have a family, despite not having a conventional means of support, I will be able to give them all that they need and some of what they want, because He will take care of us.

So...

For those of you who live like I do, well... you get where I'm coming from.

For those who don't, I hope this blog helps you to understand more about me and the way I live.

Plus, of course, I love new experiences and I'll be having a world of those, so you'll be seeing and hearing a lot about that!!! :)
