I'm only here a day and I must already speak the Chinese? :O
--And what a day it's been! So, I arrived here around 11:00-something last night, pulled out a bunch of stuff, showered, crawled into bed, then awoke at 6:00 with a mosquito gently nibbling on my left cheek. I tried to coax myself back into the sleep mode, but that didn't work, so I got up and was able to attend devotions in a not-yet-zombie-like state.
I haven't figured out the time thing, yet, but, basically, within the space of about 25 hours, I went from wake-up at 6:00 on the morning of the 25th to arrival at 11:00 on the night of the 27th. Basically, I'm figuring I lost a whole night, because I got on the plane in the morning and I didn't see night until I arrived, which was already the evening of the day after I left (if that makes any sense - it doesn't to me, but I haven't quite woken up, yet). Well, it isn't unusual for me to be up a whole night, but it is unusual for me to then pretend that 5 hours of sleep is enough (after not having slept much the two previous nights) and then be up all day and then try to tell myself it's all for the good since I can't sleep anyway. :D
Okay, I will have more photos and accounts (not that there was much to report on -- and I might not even remember my "entertaining" observations once I awake)...
