Rainbows

[Enjoying a speedy run through afore-mentioned lovely-ness...]

[Random stranger:] Look! Rainbow!! [In slightly admonishing tone]

[Semi-stop]

[Ange:] Yes! Beautiful!!

[Some small talk, including him pondering aloud "but why is the rainbow hollow?"]

[RS:] ... So why do you speak like this?

[Ange:] My father is American.

[RS:] Oh! So your mother lured your father to Brasil, to marry him! Bye!

[Turns and walks away]

[Ange:] Ahahaha! Very funny!!

[Sometimes, I'm rather surprised by the words the most basic English-speakers -- even the ones with a mouthful of metal-capped teeth -- can pull out of their hats. In general, Taiwanese are really good with written/textbook English. Struggle with conversation/application, though... Something I've remarked on several times and which CPA even pointed out, today, as an enlightening/useful observation, for our benefaction.]
