Resonating

The other day a friend (do you have a soul-friend? if you don’t, you should get ye one NOW! they do things to your awareness and growth that nothing and nobody else will ever do -- that is, if you’re interested in such awareness and growth; some people aren’t) asked me why I like the book of Job, after I stated that it’s always been my favorite book of the Bible. My response was incomplete…

I’m terrible at expressing myself in speech. Besides, it’s impossible to formulate a complete and accurate response on the spot. I said something like how I just get it, the humanity of it, the trials, the attitudes and the conclusion. It speaks to me; I grasp it!--And I like the metaphysical aspects.

I’ve been thinking more about the “why?” of that “like” and my conclusion is simply this:

It resonates with me.

Why do some things you read “speak” to you? Why do some people you meet “click” with you? Why do some situations you hear about “touch” you?

Resonating is the most accurate description for me. I probably have the actual definition of “resonate” wrong, but when I think of it and use it for this explanation, it means that it makes me feel that… basically… the verse/person/situation is vibrating at a certain tempo and when I’m exposed to it, my heart, soul and mind vibrate at the same tempo and it simply computes in a way words, description and logic can’t define. It's non-human.

Granted… at different times in life, different things will resonate… things that previously resonated no longer resonate… but there are the constants, like: Job; Kahlil; Handel's Messiah; waterfalls; Monet…

And some people.

  1. I feel like this really applies to the conversation we were having last night that wasn't just us. I feel like me and the book of job and that guy really resonated with you. Which makes perfect sense, given that you're now posting poetry about the moon. My conclusion: you're turning into a Cancer (heheheheh)
