We went over to Justin and Rossi's for a small "girls only" celebration for her birthday. It was so much fun! Just a few girls being silly and having the most iiinteresting conversations.--And Justin keeping the margaritas and pina coladas flowing. (Yes, for all you fans ["fans" are "fanatics", right? :D ]: that WOULD be Justin SPIRIT.) I didn't get any pictures, because, in my old age, I've become camera-slinging-shy, boohoo, but I did get a couple undercover videos of the scenery, which was ladies sitting around talking and Justin being a good host. But it was filmed for specific eyes and ears only, so won't be posted, haha.
Anyway, I don't know Rossi very well, but I like her, so I did the song thing anyway, scant as it may be, and we ended up having an "appreciate Rossi" spot, so that worked. Besides, when I originally thought "I don't know her well enough to do a song", this tune hit me and I snickered (if you've seen "Love Actually", you'll get from whence the snicker) and determined I HAD to use it.
It was quite lovely. Even Angie (of Jay -- we ended up with 3 real Angelinas there, ack! Angel, where were you, to make it 4? :O oh, right, Canada... :] oh, their little baby girl has taken to me the same way Sho once did... some of the same reactions and mannerisms... aww... must be the Sag-ness, aww... I miss my Sho!) questioned my singing abilities and then conceded that "okay, yeah, you can sing". But that was one sour margarita talking, because I actually can't sing, ahaha.
I CAN make a fool of myself. *When you make a fool of yourself, it takes the focus off of everyone else's fool-ness, which makes them feel brilliant, which in turn makes them feel that YOU are brilliant. This was the effect of the song. Also, 2 pina coladas. (*That was a very useful tidbit of information regarding humanity and I choose to share it with you, now, because the end of the world is nearly upon us and we have no time to waste.)
Sung to the tune of "Killing Me Softly"...
[Slow tempo]
I hardly know you, Rossi,
But I know you are swell
And I’m sure everyone would
Say the same, as well.
You’re loving, kind and tender:
We like your happy self.
Rossi, we love you, we need you.
Rossi, you’re friendly and groovy.
Rossi, we wish you much loveliness.
Oh, Rossi, ladidaladidaweedeeooo.
Happy birthday, Rossiii!
[Speed up tempo]
So, in this coming year, we
Wish you all of the best;
We know you’ll have all that you
Need for every test.
We wish you good surprises
And challenges and fun.
Rossi, we love you, we need you. (One time, one time)
Rossi, you’re friendly and groovy. (Two times, two times)
Rossi, we wish you much loveliness.
Oh, Rossi, ladidaladidaweedeeooo.
Happy birthday, Rossiii-i-i-i-i-i-i-i!
[Softly :D ] Yeaaah
