I did it! I accidentally figured out how to check how much credit I have left on my SIM!! Woohoo!!! This is actually a great feat. It really is!! I kid you not! See, it's all in Chinese and nobody knows how to operate the finer details, usually... And it's quite disconcerting to not know if you're running out of credit and that text/call won't make it through. If I run out without knowing I'm running out, I have to go all the way to Zhishan to get a re-fill... Ugh. But now I know! I still don't really know how much calls cost, so I can't gauge how much time I really have left, but at least I'll know when I'm down to my last 100 NT, heh.
Oh, right -- this is how you do it:
-Type in *114*#
-Press green/go/enter button
-The number that shows up in the midst of all the Chinese text is the amount of credit left
-Yay!
