Ran the 8k to the office in 45 minutes and included 5 100-meter bursts at my top speed. The overall time isn't beautiful, but my goal was the 5 bursts and an attempt at a semblance of good form while doing them. I think I succeeded with form (and reasonable speed) for the first two. The 3rd one was so-so and the last 2 it was all I could do to keep myself moving at that (noticeably much slower than the first 2) speed. I want to work up to 10 of those bursts in a given setting (not sure how long I was leaving inbetween, but would wait till I felt ready for another, and then none for the last 3rd of the way), which would total 1k (for those of you who don't know how to count as well as I do, hahaha -- I'm not very good at counting, without using my fingers: it's called lazy-ness).
Then we played soccer this evening. I think adding dashes to my running, like that, will even improve my soccer, in the long run (oh! oh! a pun! without even trying!), because I usually play defense and need to burst after the guys. Naturally impossible for a girl to keep up with a guy and I die every time I try to, but I guess, "for a girl", I do sort of okay, all things considered. Just think how improved I'd be, with more strength and speed in bursts overall.

--And for Michaela's sake: I'll have you know that today, at my desk, I got through a hefty chunk of invoicing, which will pay great dividends in Heaven and on earth. Selah. >:)
