I even made us (as if -- we try) have praise time over lunch, for this:

Brazil Defeats Argentina 3-1 to Qualify for Soccer World Cup
By James Cone

Sept. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Five-time champion Brazil maintained its record of reaching every World Cup soccer tournament, securing its spot with a 3-1 win against Argentina last night.

Luis Fabiano got two goals, while Luisao also scored in Rosario, Argentina. Jesus Datolo replied for the home team, which remains fourth in the 10-team standings.

“It doesn’t get better than this, to qualify for the finals here in Argentina,” Brazil captain Lucio told FIFA’s Web site. “It feels special because of the rivalry we have, and to achieve our objective like this makes it even more satisfying.”

Brazil Beats Argentina 3-1 to Reach World Cup

ROSARIO, Argentina, Sept 5 (Reuters) - Luis Fabiano struck twice as Brazil stunned arch-rivals Argentina 3-1 away in their World Cup qualifier on Saturday to reach the 2010 finals.

The defeat, after defender Luisao had put Brazil ahead in the 24th minute, left Argentina's chances of reaching the finals in South Africa hanging by a thread.

Midfielder Jesus Datolo replied for Argentina.

Five-times world champions Brazil lead the South American group with 30 points. They are more than nine points ahead of fifth and sixth-placed Colombia and Ecuador with three games remaining.

Ahaha!!!

  2. Dude, I feel like that's what you're doing when you're supposed to be talking to me.
If it's any comfort, I totally noticed your "colours" the first time they came on-screen. Happy independence day!

  3. Woohoo! You're a noticing hero! :)

Yes, it's true, but note how I was very studiously doing totally-work-related things, instead of talking to you... >:)

  4. I'd just like to mention right now that the only thing I COULD note was that you were dancing in your chair. If you don't do that while you're talking to me instead of working, I'm bitterly disappointed. Bitterly.
    Selah.
