Last month, in Brasil:
Tandem paragliding
It was greeeat!!!
I'm sort of drawn to different and "exciting" things, but if I over-think them, I convince myself of all the reasons not to do them. So, of course, I try not to over-think some things, since I don't want to miss out on _everything_... :) We have a friend who paraglides pretty frequently, but hadn't taken someone for quite awhile, so he was a little rusty, but it was a smooth flight, including smooth take-off and landing (I landed on my bum and he landed standing up). Please note my pretty-ly-crossed legs -- that after he pointed out, while we were on the ground observing, how ugly it looks when newbies let their legs splay. Haha.
I was expecting much more of a rush, but because it was so smooth, it was just a peaceful little excursion -- way high up. :) He had to do all the work, tugging on those lines, trying to catch the right winds, etc., and I was relaxed and comfortable enough that I could've had a snack up there. I'm taking champagne and chocolate next time, heheh. Sunglasses didn't fall off, even though I was afraid the wind would knock them off and they'd go plunging to their death. It was actually surprisingly calm -- that's probably why the rush wasn't there. Not like when you're hurrying down a mountainside on a scooter. :)
Anyway, was swell... Must do again... Someday...
