One of our printers had an outing (the yearly one) for the company and we were invited. Not everyone made it, and I'm sure they're glad they skipped out on the exhausting part, heh, but for what it was, it was good. Mark and Nicole's kids went along -- they went, too, of course -- plus, Peter and Marie's kids and Adina (Aaron and Iona's daughter), so we had a good little group of people. (Adults: Mark, Nicole, Peter, Mike, Danny.--And me.)
Wake up at 5:00, departure from home at 5:45, departure from meeting spot at 7:15. Much driving to Yilan. First stop logging park. Second stop lunch. Third stop water park (not the slides kind -- I've never been to anything like this... it had little shallow water areas, fountains, etc., with shows going on on some stage, plenty of walking space... and one big pool... so we splished and splashed and generally tried to cool ourselves by wading... it was interesting). Fourth stop dinner. Home at 11:30.
Exhausting! :)
My one compliment for the day was that I can hold my alcohol. Haha. I think when you sweat that much, beer doesn't have a chance to do anything to you... unless you're Asian and turn red. :)
We had a nice dark wheat beer at the water park, too... Swell...
Oh, yes, and the words of wisdom from our tour guide (this turned out to be a recurring theme, from lunch on): "These onions are very good for you: they will make you beautiful, strong... and sexyyy!" Mark/Ange: "Haha, he's using ALL his English words." Later in the day, same tour guide: "Eat this fish -- it will make you beautiful, strong... and..." [Ange reprimands him for what's to come, since we'd been snickering about his line all day] "...and charming!!!" Later to be followed with dramatic: "Keess me goodbye!!" [Ange gives her best stern look and shakes a finger at the cheeky-ness] Mark: "I think he's seen too many English movies."
Hahaha. I do believe these Taiwanese people have a pretty fun sense of humor. :D
