Sleepless in...

Well, nowhere, really... But sleepless... Ack!

Finally, it's hit me: I'm traveling tomorrow.

I (actually! shocking!) fell asleep and then woke up after half an hour with all the brain busy-ness merrily afoot. ("I'm not used to the Home not working out/covering airport trips -- what to do... I wonder if transferring my miles from KLM to my Continental account will really work... Oh no, I won't see Tyler and Ayleen before I leave... I'm going to be sooo exhausted -- hope it doesn't make me do anything stupid... I wonder if any of the clothes I've collected will fit either of my brothers... I don't think I have enough shiner prizes for all my nieces and nephews and the kids in my parents' Home, eek... I wonder if I can throw a load into the machines tomorrow morning... My jeans are nearly too dead to wear... Should I really take my pillow, like usual..." and so on.)

I'm so not-used to being this unprepared. It's just been way too busy to give anything regarding the trip much thought. That's what I'm not used to: not used to not obsessing over every detail and worrying that I'm missing or forgetting something. What's happening to me in my old age? Eek! :) (I just, this very second, realized that I think I got that "in my old age" term from my mother... It's amazing how many things from your parents start popping out in your personality. In your old age, of course, hahaha. I also confirmed, today, that I genetically got my insomnia from that same mother. Erk. How _did_ you do it all those years, Mother... Great globs of gushy admiration!)

Anyway, I look around my room and there isn't really much that still needs to be packed and the amount of packing I've done has been extremely minimal. That, in itself -- that I've put practically nothing towards packing -- is what scares me and confirms that I'm missing something.--And you should see what _is_ packed: er, nothing. Maybe I'm just an over-packer usually and (you said it!), in my old age, I'm being more realistic. Watch this be the _one_ time I have nothing of what I need, even though every other time I didn't use half of what I took. Haha.

That's not a very funny thought: I don't like being unprepared. Hrm...

Then again, I have so few belongings nowadays that there isn't much to pack anyway, heh. As long as I have my passport, ticket funds and the laptop to keep up with work and contact people if needed, technically, I should be fine...

But "technically" doesn't always do it. For me. :) (Psycho-mind-female that you are, Ange, aherm...)
