"Miss Me"

Okay, so, I don't know very many "worldly" songs, because I just haven't been that exposed (except to some extreme foolishness and/or corny-ness, heh) and I simply don't have the type of memory necessary to retain any amount of anything along those lines. But some things do stick. Also, I have this very talented brain (it's only Jesus, heh) that draws some of the weirdest associations and relations. It's truly alarming -- it alarms everyone else and I alarm myself. Oh well. Anyway, when Emma asked me if I'm going to miss her, I immediately thought of this song with, of course, that one word appropriately modified.

Emma, this is for you -- and it gloriously resonates along the lines of our recently discovered turtle-dove-ness. Hahaha!

Miss me out of the bearded barley
Nightly, beside the green, green grass
Swing, swing, swing the spinning step
You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress.

Oh, miss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moon's sparkling
So miss me

Miss me down by the broken tree house
Swing me upon its hanging tire
Bring, bring, bring your flowered hat
We'll take the trail marked on your father's map
Oh, miss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moon's sparkling
So miss me
