Confused

Several people have reacted with surprise (?) when I've said that I'm using my full two-suitcases-23-kilos-each-besides-carry-on luggage allowance. (Saying I should be able to get to the airport via public, etc., which is just humanly impossible -- even for a guy, aherm -- with a full luggage allowance.) I don't understand, though, how -- when you've known for a year that you would be traveling and have been setting aside stuff for your family and the people in their Home, besides getting snacks and treats for them -- you wouldn't end up using the full amount. :) --And then, particularly, how you would expect not to return with the full allowance, when you've been trying to save up for presents and food for everyone at home. :) Yeah, I just don't get how it could be any different than two full and heavy suitcases both ways (plus carry-on, plus laptop, plus pillow)... :D
