Parties!!

Last night, a bunch of people here did a small celebration thing for my day-after-birthday... We sat around and talked -- always the best choice -- had some yummy snacks -- always the second best choice -- then played a couple fun games -- always the third best choice. Heheh. We played Taboo, but with an Indian version of the game, which meant the word choices (and the nixed words) were a little odd and not as easy to work with. But it worked. Then we played some home-made (elsewhere) game called something Mennonite-ish... It went like this:

- Everyone gets a piece of paper
- One pen in the middle of the table
- One die in the middle of the table

The aim of the game is to write the numbers from 1-100 (without missing one), buuut the only time you get to write is when you roll a 6. So, the first person rolls and if they don't get a 6, the next person snaps it up and rolls and the die keeps going around the table. As soon as someone rolls 6, they snatch up the pen and start writing. You keep writing until the next 6 gets rolled. So if you're not writing, you're trying to get the die around as quickly as possible, so there's a higher chance of a 6 coming out. And if you're writing, you're frantically trying to write as much as possible before the 6 hits again.

So, basically, there's a lot of speed, frantic-ness, grabbing and all-around rowdiness. Haha. It was sooo fun.

A few recommendations:

- Don't let the die fall or roll too far; the more time spent gathering the die, the longer the writer gets to write
- Don't cross your 7s (I can't get away from doing it); saves writing time, heh
- If you're Japanese or Chinese, you're likely to write faster than anyone else, because you're used to being speedy at writing all those characters :)
- Use a pen that's solid, without any pieces that come off, otherwise, the top piece always comes off when grabbed, needing to be replaced before writing

Enjoy!

Woohoo!
