Meat

Meat is something that's been not-around in the week-and-a-half that I've been here. I say that as an observation, not at all a complaint. :) I had a feeling that might be the case, coming to an island and all... :) So when people asked me what was preferable, before moving, we often ended up with steak (as opposed to fish or chicken, heh).

At home (here), we've had fish quite a bit, tofu some, and a little chicken. Today we had some ground beef in a vegetable stew. The thing is, we have veggies (cooked) in such a pleasant and tasty way, with sauces and broths, that I haven't even noticed the meat lacking! I'm sure at some point my body might start noticing, at least a little, heh, but for now, I'm quite content and enjoying the tasty vegetables, cooked and in soups, that my belly is treated with daily.

I've also discovered the art of eating breakfast, something I haven't done consistently in over a year. My breakfast currently consists of raw oats, powdered milk, some raisins and water, all mixed together. Yum! Well, I can hear a few ews about that, but at least it's quick and it's substantial and lasts me all morning. Yes, I know, good for me! :)
